Dear (carer)

We are writing to tell you about changes in how you receive your free personal protective equipment (PPE) for Covid-19 needs.

The Government remains committed to provide free PPE for the Covid-19 needs of unpaid carers until March 2023 (or until Infection Prevention Control guidance is either withdrawn or substantially amended, whichever is sooner).  From 1 May 2022, you will order your free PPE directly from the NHS by using an online ordering and delivery service called the ‘PPE Portal’.  Derbyshire County Council will no longer supply free PPE to unpaid carers from this date.

To use the new service you will need to register with the PPE Portal before you can begin placing orders.  You can register with the PPE Portal by clicking this link:  Register for the PPE Portal.   If you need assistance to register, please telephone the PPE Portal customer services team on 0800 876 6802.  The team is available 7 days a week from 8am to 5pm.

Further information about the PPE Portal can be found by clicking this link: PPE Portal.

If the PPE Portal customer service team is unable to help, you require further assistance or advice about these changes, please email ppesupplies@derbyshire.gov.uk.
