Thursday 1st June – Friday 30th June

To celebrate pride month this year staff at Derbyshire Carers Association have organised a Face Mask & Body Scrub Making at Stenson Fields Community Centre.

History of Pride Month

Every year, during the month of June, the LGBT community celebrates in a number of different ways. Across the globe, various events are held during this special month as a way of recognising the influence LGBT people have had around the world. Why was June chosen? Because it is when the Stonewall Riots took place, way back in 1969.

More about the Stonewall Riots can be found here;

In celebration of Pride Month our DCA Inclusion worker will also be attending the following events to raise awareness for carers;

  • Chesterfield Pride Stand Park, Sheffield Road. Chesterfield 23rd July – 12.pm -7pm
  • Pride In Belper - 5th & 6th August On Belper Market Place from 12.pm onwards
  • Derby Pride – Markeaton Park - 9th September 12-6.30.pm
