Young Carers Action Day is a day to celebrate and raise awareness of challenges Young Carers face and for all those supporting Young Carers to work towards equal opportunities as their peers.
This year's theme is Fair Futures for Young Carers. It highlights the need to ensure that every Young Carer has the same chances as their peers to enjoy education, wellbeing, employment and life opportunities.

Purpose and importance
A Young Carer is someone aged 5-17.5 years old and Young Adult Carer aged 17.5- 25 years old, who provides care for a family member or friend who has a long- term illness, disability, mental health difficulties or substance misuse.
They often manage adult responsibilities- such as cooking, cleaning, personal care, keeping an eye on someone, all whilst managing school, which can impact their education, wellbeing and social life.
